Ingredients

Scale
  • 24 Oreo cookies (regular or double-stuffed), crushed into fine crumbs
  • 1 package (3.4 oz / 96 g) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups (16 fl oz) cold milk (whole or 2%)
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup (4 fl oz) heavy whipping cream, cold
  • 1/4 cup (50 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • Additional crushed Oreos (about 1 cup / 100 g) for garnish
  • 1 package (about 810) ghost-shaped marshmallow Peeps
  • Optional: edible candy eyes or Halloween sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreos into fine crumbs using a ziplock bag and rolling pin, reserving about 1 cup for topping.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together instant chocolate pudding mix and 2 cups cold milk until thickened, about 2 minutes. Set aside to chill.
  3. Beat softened cream cheese with granulated sugar until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes. Add vanilla extract and combine.
  4. Whip cold heavy cream until stiff peaks form, about 3-4 minutes on medium-high speed.
  5. Gently fold whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture to keep it airy.
  6. Fold the pudding mixture into the cream cheese and whipped cream mixture until smooth and fully blended.
  7. In a serving dish, spread half of the pudding mixture evenly, then sprinkle half of the crushed Oreos on top. Repeat with remaining pudding and Oreo crumble.
  8. Place ghost-shaped marshmallow Peeps on top of the final Oreo layer, spacing them like tombstones. Add candy eyes or sprinkles if desired.
  9. Refrigerate the dirt cake for at least 2 hours or overnight before serving.

Notes

Soften cream cheese at room temperature for about 30 minutes before starting to avoid lumps. Whip cream to stiff peaks but do not overwhip to prevent graininess. Fold mixtures gently to keep texture light and airy. Chill at least 2 hours or overnight for best results. Add Oreo topping just before serving to keep it crunchy.
