This Easy Caramel Apple Sangria for a Crowd is a quick and simple fall cocktail made with white wine, apple cider, caramel sauce, and fresh apples. It’s perfect for gatherings and tastes like autumn in a glass.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) white wine (Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc)
  • 2 cups apple cider (unfiltered preferred)
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (thick, syrupy kind)
  • 1/4 cup vodka (optional, vanilla vodka recommended)
  • 1/4 cup apple brandy (or Calvados)
  • 2 medium Honeycrisp apples (or Fuji)
  • 1 medium Granny Smith apple
  • 1 large orange (thinly sliced)
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • Extra caramel sauce for garnish (optional)
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs for garnish (optional)
  • Sea salt flakes for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and core the apples. Slice into thin rounds or half-moons, about 1/4 inch thick. Slice the orange into thin rounds, removing seeds. Place all fruit in a large pitcher.
  2. If caramel sauce is thick, microwave in a small bowl for about 15 seconds until pourable but not hot. Stir until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl or directly in the pitcher, combine white wine, apple cider, vodka (if using), and apple brandy. Stir gently to combine.
  4. Slowly pour the warm caramel sauce into the pitcher while stirring gently until evenly incorporated and no streaks remain.
  5. Drop the cinnamon stick into the pitcher and give everything one more gentle stir.
  6. Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, ideally overnight (up to 24 hours).
  7. When ready to serve, give the sangria a gentle stir. Pour into glasses filled with ice (optional). Ensure each glass gets some fruit. Drizzle extra caramel sauce on top, add a rosemary sprig, and finish with a tiny pinch of sea salt flakes if desired.

Notes

For best results, let the sangria chill overnight to allow flavors to meld. If too sweet after chilling, squeeze in juice of half a lemon. If not sweet enough, stir in another tablespoon of caramel sauce. For a non-alcoholic version, replace wine with non-alcoholic white wine or sparkling apple cider, omit vodka and brandy, and add an extra 1/2 cup apple cider. For a sparkling version, use half white wine and half sparkling apple cider, adding the sparkling cider just before serving.
