These Easy Mummy Hot Dogs are a fun, quick, and kid-approved Halloween dinner made with just crescent rolls, hot dogs, and mustard. Ready in about 20 minutes, they turn a regular weeknight into a mini celebration.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 hot dogs (beef, turkey, or chicken)
  • 1 can (8-count) crescent roll dough (recommended: Pillsbury Original Crescent Rolls)
  • Yellow mustard (for eyes)
  • Optional: cheddar cheese strips
  • Optional: cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough on a clean surface. Press the perforated seams together gently to seal.
  3. Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut each triangle lengthwise into 3-4 strips, about 1/2 inch wide.
  4. Take one hot dog and wrap the dough strips around it, starting at one end and leaving a 1-inch gap at the top for the eyes. Overlap the strips slightly and do not wrap too tightly.
  5. Place each wrapped mummy on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch of space between them.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the dough is golden brown and puffed.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool for about 2 minutes. Dip a toothpick into yellow mustard and dot two small eyes onto each mummy.
  8. Serve immediately while warm.

Notes

Don’t overwork the dough; handle gently. Leave a little slack when wrapping so the dough can puff. For best results, use Pillsbury Original Crescent Rolls. To make ahead, wrap the hot dogs and refrigerate for up to 2 hours before baking. For a cheesy version, add a thin strip of cheddar under the dough. For gluten-free, use gluten-free crescent roll dough.
