This glowing witches brew punch is a quick and easy Halloween party showstopper that uses tonic water and fresh citrus to create an eerie green-blue glow under black light. Perfect for impressing guests with minimal effort.

  • 2 cups lemon-lime soda (e.g., Sprite or 7UP)
  • 2 cups tonic water (e.g., Schweppes or Canada Dry)
  • 1 cup ginger ale (e.g., Vernors or Canada Dry)
  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice (about 4–5 limes)
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (about 3–4 lemons)
  • 1 block food-grade dry ice
  • 1 cup frozen cranberries or raspberries
  • 1 cup frozen green grapes
  • Plastic spiders or gummy worms for garnish
  • Black light bulb or UV flashlight
  • Clear punch bowl

Instructions

  1. Chill all ingredients (pineapple juice, lemon-lime soda, tonic water, ginger ale) in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  2. Roll limes and lemons on the counter to release juices, then squeeze into a small bowl and remove seeds.
  3. In a large punch bowl, combine chilled pineapple juice, lemon-lime soda, tonic water, and ginger ale. Stir gently.
  4. Add fresh lime and lemon juice. Stir again. The mixture should appear pale greenish-yellow.
  5. Drop in frozen cranberries and grapes. They will float and help keep the punch cold.
  6. Position a black light to shine directly on the punch bowl. Test the glow before serving.
  7. Just before serving, wearing gloves, carefully place the block of dry ice into the punch bowl using tongs. It will produce fog immediately.
  8. Garnish with plastic spiders or gummy worms. Serve in clear cups so guests can see the glow. Stir occasionally to maintain the fog effect.

Notes

Tonic water is essential for the glow; use regular (not diet) for best results. Fresh citrus juice glows brighter than bottled. Handle dry ice with gloves and never seal the punch bowl with dry ice inside. For a kid-friendly version, skip the dry ice and use extra frozen fruit.
