A quick and easy Halloween treat featuring crunchy popcorn coated in creamy white chocolate, mixed with candy corn, pretzels, dried cranberries, and M&Ms. Perfect for parties, movie nights, or last-minute celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 cups popped popcorn (about ½ cup unpopped kernels)
  • 16 oz white chocolate melting wafers or high-quality white chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil or vegetable oil
  • 1 cup candy corn
  • 1 cup pretzel sticks, broken into small pieces
  • ½ cup dried cranberries or dried cherries
  • ½ cup Halloween-colored M&Ms or candy-coated chocolate pieces
  • ¼ cup festive sprinkles (orange, black, purple)
  • ¼ cup chopped pecans or almonds (optional)
  • Flaky sea salt (optional)
  • Orange food coloring gel (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pop your popcorn. Start with about ½ cup of unpopped kernels. If using an air popper, let it run until the popping slows to about 2 seconds between pops. If doing stovetop, heat 2 tablespoons of coconut oil in a large pot over medium-high heat, add the kernels, and shake the pot occasionally until the popping stops. You should end up with about 12 cups of popped corn. Spread it out on your baking sheet and pick out any unpopped kernels.
  2. Prepare your mix-ins. While the popcorn cools slightly, break your pretzel sticks into small pieces (about ½-inch chunks). Measure out your candy corn, dried cranberries, and M&Ms. Set everything aside in separate bowls.
  3. Melt the white chocolate. Place your white chocolate wafers or chips in a microwave-safe bowl with 2 tablespoons of coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring thoroughly between each one. It usually takes about 90 seconds total. The chocolate should be smooth and glossy when done. Do not overheat.
  4. Coat the popcorn. Pour your popcorn into your largest mixing bowl. Drizzle about half of the melted white chocolate over the top and gently fold with a spatula. Add the rest and continue folding until every piece of popcorn has a nice coating. Work quickly.
  5. Add your mix-ins. While the white chocolate is still wet, sprinkle in your pretzel pieces, candy corn, dried cranberries, and M&Ms. Fold everything together gently until evenly distributed.
  6. Spread and set. Transfer the mixture to a parchment-lined baking sheet. Spread it out in an even layer. If using festive sprinkles, sprinkle them on top now. For extra flair, add a light dusting of flaky sea salt.
  7. Let it set. Allow the mix to cool completely at room temperature, about 30-45 minutes. If in a hurry, refrigerate for 15 minutes, then let it come back to room temperature before breaking apart.
  8. Break it up. Once the chocolate is fully set, break the mixture into clusters of desired size.

Notes

Use freshly popped popcorn for best crunch. Avoid pre-buttered microwave popcorn as extra grease can affect chocolate coating. If chocolate seizes, stir in a teaspoon of coconut oil. For best texture, store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. Can be frozen for up to a month.
