These mini football cheeseburger sliders are quick, easy, and perfect for game day. Made with simple ingredients like ground beef, cheese, and dinner rolls, they’re baked together as one giant slab for crispy edges and oozy cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef (80/20 ground chuck recommended)
  • 12-count package of dinner rolls (like Hawaiian rolls or parker house rolls)
  • 8 slices or 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 tbsp (56 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Pickle slices (optional but recommended)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for topping, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking dish or rimmed baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
  2. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat for 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess fat, leaving about 1 tablespoon. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir and remove from heat.
  3. Slice the entire slab of dinner rolls in half horizontally. Place the bottom half in the baking dish, cut side up. Brush with Dijon mustard.
  4. Spread the cooked ground beef evenly over the bottom rolls. Top with cheese slices or shredded cheese. Add pickle slices if desired. Place the top half of the rolls over the filling, cut side down.
  5. Brush the top of the rolls with melted butter. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top if using.
  6. Cover the dish loosely with aluminum foil and bake for 10 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for another 8-10 minutes, until the tops are golden brown and the edges are crispy.
  8. Let the sliders rest in the pan for 5 minutes. Use a sharp knife or pizza cutter to slice between the rolls into individual sliders.
  9. Serve immediately with extra pickles, ketchup, or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For best results, toast the bottom half of the rolls for 2-3 minutes before assembling to prevent sogginess. Let the cooked beef cool slightly before adding to rolls. Use a pizza cutter for clean slices. Double the recipe for larger crowds.
