A carefully curated charcuterie board designed for two people who want to share something delicious without spending hours in the kitchen. It’s generous without being overwhelming, thoughtful without being fussy, and every bite feels like a small celebration.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 oz Brie or Camembert (soft cheese)
  • 3 oz aged Gouda or Manchego, thinly sliced
  • 4 oz goat cheese log
  • 4 oz prosciutto, thinly sliced
  • 3 oz Genoa salami, sliced into thin rounds
  • 4 oz water crackers or rosemary crackers
  • 1 small baguette, sliced into thin rounds and lightly toasted
  • 1 cup red grapes
  • 1 small apple (Honeycrisp or Fuji), sliced thin
  • 1/3 cup Marcona almonds or candied pecans
  • 3 tbsp fig jam or honey
  • 1/3 cup Castelvetrano olives
  • 1/4 cup dried apricots or figs
  • A few sprigs of fresh rosemary or thyme (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place your three small bowls or ramekins on the board first. Space them out—one near the top left for the fig jam, one near the bottom center for the olives, and one near the top right for the nuts.
  2. Place the Brie (whole, with the rind on) near the center-left of the board. Place the goat cheese log on the right side, slightly angled. Arrange the sliced Gouda in a small fan pattern near the bottom left. Leave space between each cheese.
  3. Fold the prosciutto slices into loose ribbons and place them near the top center of the board. Arrange the salami slices in a small overlapping pile near the bottom right.
  4. Arrange the water crackers in a small cluster near the top right, and the toasted baguette slices in a line along the left edge.
  5. Scatter the red grapes in small bunches around the board. Fan the apple slices near the Brie.
  6. Tuck the dried apricots and figs into the gaps.
  7. Drizzle a small amount of honey over the goat cheese log, then sprinkle a few fresh thyme leaves on top. Tuck the rosemary sprigs between the cheese and the meat for a pop of green.
  8. Place the cheese knives and small spoons next to their respective items. Serve at room temperature.

Notes

Let cheeses sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before serving for best flavor. Don’t overcrowd the board—leave some negative space. Prep all ingredients before arranging. For a vegetarian version, skip the meats and double up on cheeses and accompaniments. Leftover components can be stored separately: cheeses in wax paper, meats in refrigerator for up to 3 days, crackers and bread at room temperature.
